English Summers Nottingham is one of the most popular programs our agency offers. This town of about half a million inhabitants is located on the Trent River and it is considered a young and modern university city with a large student population, both during the academic year and summer. Nottingham is most famous for the legend of Robin Hood, which is associated with numerous attractions in the city and its surroundings (Robin Hood Museum, Sherwood Forest). During their stay, students will have the opportunity to see Nottingham Castle and the Nottingham Caves, as well as other interesting locations. The advantage of this city is its location in the very heart of England, so going to other major cities (London, Manchester, York, Cambridge, Oxford and Stratford) is quite simple.
ACCOMMODATION ■ The summer camp attendees are accommodated in the modern university campus full of greenery and yet only 10 minutes away from the city centre. Single en-suite rooms in the summer school have access to the shared kitchen and social spaces. The package includes full board (various dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner). Apart from spacious well-equipped classrooms, the campus offers excellent sports facilities: an indoor swimming pool, tennis courts and playing fields, as well as a beautiful lake amongst trees and open spaces.
LESSONS ■ The summer course provides 15 hours of tuition per full week. The course aims for the students to improve their English language skills, with an emphasis on communication. The attendees of the language camp are taught in small groups of mixed nationalities, thus contributing to the full English experience. The summer school teachers are highly qualified and the school is British Council accredited.
ACTIVITIES AND EXCURSIONS ■ Apart from lessons, the two-week programme includes three full-day field trips to Manchester, York and Cambridge, and half-day trips to the landmarks of Nottingham. Optional field trips to Oxford, London or Alton Towers resort can also be arranged. On days without field trips various sports and art workshops are organised in the language camp, while evening activities include parties, games and socialising with students from all over the world, with an opportunity to use and improve English even further.
